Mechanical Fitter
Mechanical Fitter – UU Region (Site-Based)
Operations Team – Permanent Role
FJA are recruiting a Mechanical Fitter to join their Operations team, based within the UU Region.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will work under the direct supervision of the Mechanical Site Manager, performing essential tasks including:
- Installation of package plants and pipework
- Site integration assistance
- Travel across the Midlands region as required
This is a hands-on role, working as part of an existing Mechanical Team.
Responsibilities
Your key duties will include:
- Precision Installation: Following engineering drawings to ensure components are installed and set out with high accuracy
- Screening & Equipment Work: Operating on de-watering units, compactors, grit rakes, machined parts, scraper bridge assemblies, penstocks, valves, pipework, and pumps
- Material Handling: Working with a variety of materials including ductile iron, plastics, and carbon steel
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhering to company SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards at all times

Successful Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in Water / Wastewater Industry
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong problem-solving skills
Desirable (Training Available for Some):
- NVQ Level 2 or ONC equivalent
- PASMA training
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- Confined Space Awareness
- Abrasive Wheels
- Manual Handling
- Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
