Mechanical Fitter - Immediate Start

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30 (40 hours per week)

Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour (Weekly Pay) + pay review after 3 months

Contract: Permanent (following a successful 3-month probation)

We're looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering company in Ipswich that has been manufacturing high-quality equipment for almost 40 years.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a mechanical fitting or assembly background who is looking to join a stable business that offers training, career progression, and long-term job security.

The Role Will Involve

  • Assembling hydraulic equipment and components
  • Cleaning and preparing parts before assembly
  • Testing completed products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Reading and interpreting engineering (CAD) drawings
  • Working on heavy plant equipment used within the construction industry
  • Supporting other departments when required

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has previous experience in mechanical fitting or mechanical assembly
  • Has a good understanding of hydraulic systems (preferred)
  • Can confidently read engineering drawings
  • Is able to work independently and produce high-quality work
  • Has a flexible approach and is willing to help across the workshop
