Job Title: Mechanical Fitter – Valve Services rôle

Role Overview

Location: Immingham Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 (dependent on experience)

SGS Valve Services is looking for a practical, safety-focused Mechanical Fitter to contribute to high-quality valve maintenance, repair, overhaul, and certification. This hands-on role blends workshop and on-site work, giving you variable responsibilities, teamwork opportunities, and the chance to grow within a global organisation dedicated to integrity and quality.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality and compliance: Perform valve maintenance, repair, overhaul, and certification services with efficiency, adhering to high technical standards and customer deadlines.
  • Technical and operational support: Provide mechanical and technical assistance to colleagues, engineers, and clients while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Follow Safety & compliance procedures: Work in accordance with SGS standards, risk assessments, and industry regulations, always prioritising safety and regulatory adherence.
  • Documention and certification: Complete job documentation and certification accurately and on time, ensuring full legislative and quality compliance.
  • Team contribution: Support team performance and department objectives through safe working habits, proper equipment usage, and a commercially focused approach.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

✅ A full UK driving license ✅ Prior mechanical fitting experience ✅ Forklift truck license

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

🔹 Mechanical Fitter (Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent) with minimum 3 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering context 🔹 NVQ Level 2 in Engineering 🔹 Safety Passport (or familiar with site safety protocols) 🔹 Knowledge of valve certification and overhaul processes
