Mechanical Fitter
Carry out mechanical fitting activities to install, assemble, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and systems. Work with various tools and machines to ensure operational reliability and safety. Maintain a clean and organised work environment while following company procedures and safety guidelines.
Key Deliverables
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
- Install, align, and secure machinery and mechanical parts.
- Disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical faults or breakdowns quickly and effectively.
- Use hand and power tools (e.g., spanners, drills, grinders, saws) safely.
- Operate workshop machinery (e.g., presses, drills, lathes).
- Prepare work areas and keep them clean and safe during and after tasks.
- Follow established safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Complete work records, job sheets, and maintenance reports accurately.
- Support the team in meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
- Assist with lifting and moving heavy equipment using suitable lifting devices.
- Store, maintain, and check tools and equipment, reporting any faults.
- Contribute to workplace safety by identifying and addressing hazards.

Key Requirements
- Experience with mechanical fitting work in an industrial or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and manuals.
- Understanding of mechanical principles and practices.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools and maintaining workshop equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe lifting practices.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Clear communication and ability to work as part of a team.
- Proactive and reliable work approach.
- Willingness to perform tasks on-site or within the workshop, as required.
