Mechanical Fitter
Fitters – Tunnelling Project
Location: South East London, Zone 1 Hours: Full-time
The Joseph Gallagher Group, a family-owned civil engineering business, is looking to recruit Fitters to join one of their teams on a large tunnelling project in London.
About the Role
We place client satisfaction at the heart of our operations, built on a reputation for honesty and quality. This role involves:
- Working on a large-scale tunnelling job
- Overseeing checks and repairs
- Undertaking general fitter tasks
Responsibilities
- Active involvement in tunnelling construction projects
- Conducting routine maintenance and inspections
- Performing fitment and repair work on site

Requirements
- Preferably, experience in a tunnelling environment
- SCL (Shield Crown Lift) experience is a plus
- CSCS card + NVQ Level 3 in Construction Plant Maintenance required
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to strict safety protocols
- Willingness to work shift rotations (including days & nights)
- Must complete a SEQOHS safety critical medic initiative
