Mechanical Fitter
First Achieve Engineering are working in partnership with a global engineering organisation specialising in advanced thermal processing and vacuum technology systems.
We’re looking for a time-served Mechanical Fitter to join their growing team, working on the build and assembly of high-spec, bespoke engineering equipment used worldwide.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with over 60 years of engineering excellence, offering long-term development and career progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mechanical assembly and testing of complex industrial systems
- Working across:
- Water systems (manifolds, pumps, pipework)
- Pneumatics (valves, airlines, devices)
- Vacuum systems and pipelines
- Inert gas systems (stainless steel pipework)
- Fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical systems
- Inspecting components to ensure quality standards
- Supporting pressure and vacuum testing (training provided)
- Occasional on-site installation and repair work

What We’re Looking For
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter
- Experience working with stainless steel, copper, and mild steel
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Flexible approach and willingness to develop

- Brazing or basic welding experience
- Hydraulics knowledge
- Forklift / scissor lift licences
- Confined space training
