Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician📍 Bognor Regis, West Sussex Full Time | Permanent

At CGA Automation, we design and manufacture high-performance stretch film converting machinery for customers around the world. Our machines are engineered in Britain and built to last, with many still operating more than 20 years after installation.
We're looking for a skilled, hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team in Bognor Regis.
This isn't repetitive production line work. Every machine is built to customer specification, meaning every project is different and every day presents a new challenge.

The Role
You'll play a key part in building, testing and preparing our bespoke machinery before it is shipped worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble bespoke machinery from engineering drawings
- Mechanical fitting of precision components and assemblies
- Assist with machine testing and final commissioning
- Run customer film trials where required
- Inspect incoming parts and components (Goods In)
- Prepare completed machinery and parts for dispatch (Goods Out)
- Pick and organise components for machine builds
- Work alongside electrical and software engineers during final machine builds
- Operate forklift trucks when required (training available if needed)
- Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and safety
- Support the wider engineering team with general workshop activities

About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong mechanical fitting or assembly experience
- Enjoys hands-on engineering work
- Can read and interpret engineering drawings
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work
- Is organised, reliable and self-motivated
- Enjoys solving problems and working as part of a close-knit team
- Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
