Description
The Role
Our Contracts Delivery team is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join the team in our office in East Kilbride.
The ideal candidate will preferably have experience working in the water and wastewater sector or a similar industry. The role will primarily involve the mechanical installation of pumps, screens & rotating equipment including pipework, valves and ancillary equipment across Scotland.

With three offices situated in Scotland; Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen we have the ability to service a customer base that stretches from the Shetland Isles all the way down to the North of England. Ferrier Pumps provide full back up repair and maintenance coverage for the products, equipment and services we supply and install. Ferrier Pumps have a wide client base which ranges from Agricultural, Oil & Gas, Marine, Biogas, Brewing & Distilling, Water & Power Leisure, and Food Processing.

Responsibilities
Requirements
- Fitter with relevant experience
- Experience in pipe work assembly including PVC, ABS, ductile iron, galvanise and stainless steel
- Experience with the installation of pumps incl. centrifugal, multistage and progressive cavity pumps.
- Good time management
- Good communication skills in both verbal and written communication with an ability to follow, interpret and explain technical instructions.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to all engineering trades, particularly Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering
- Must demonstrate good organisational and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work in a team
- Working knowledge of current H&S legislation as well as ability to comply with Risk Assessments and Method Statements
