FJA are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing engineering team, working both from our workshop and at client sites across the UK.

As a Mechanical Fitter
You will be responsible for carrying out engineering assembly, installation, maintenance and testing activities on a wide range of food and pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. You will work both independently and as part of a skilled engineering team, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities
- Carry out engineering assembly activities on a wide range of food and pharmaceutical processing equipment.
- Assemble, strip down, rebuild and maintain machinery within the workshop and at customer sites.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, ensuring components are built to the required tolerances and specifications.
- Build intricate mechanical equipment to designated quality standards.
- Carry out testing procedures on a variety of equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete all documentation accurately and follow company instructions and processes.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and on customer sites.
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
- Travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
- Undertake any other duties as requested by management.

The Successful Mechanical Fitter Must Have
- Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 Years’ Experience Within Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proven experience assembling and maintaining machinery within the food and/or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and travel requirements.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- Experience working on customer sites within regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience testing and commissioning mechanical equipment.
