MIM Mechanical Installation and Maintenance (N.I) Ltd, established in 1994, brings over three decades of experience in delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions. Recognized as one of Ireland’s leading mechanical installation companies, MIM successfully delivers projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. The company provides end-to-end engineering services across design, fabrication, and installation for complex industrial environments. MIM supports sectors including biopharma, data centres, food and beverage, power generation, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor. With a core workforce of over 100 skilled professionals, MIM has the capacity to deliver projects of any scale safely, efficiently, and to rigorous quality standards.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit experienced Mechanical Fitters / Riggers to join our expanding site teams.
Location
Based in Derry/Londonderry with travel throughout Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, UK and Europe if required
Salary
Competitive (dependent on experience) + Overtime + Travel Allowance + Accommodation + Company Benefits.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe movement, installation, assembly, and commissioning support of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment on customer sites. Projects range from machinery relocations and production line installations to data centre mechanical works and shutdown projects.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong safety focus, excellent teamwork, and a willingness to travel when required.
Key responsibilities
- Machinery moving and equipment relocation
- Rigging and lifting operations
- Mechanical installation and assembly
- Installation of production machinery and process equipment
- Alignment and positioning of mechanical equipment
- Installation of steel supports and secondary steelwork
- Installation of pipework, brackets, and mechanical systems
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Assisting with equipment commissioning and testing
- Operating hand and power tools safely
- Working with cranes, MEWPs, and lifting equipment
- Completing work to high quality and safety standards
- Working on shutdowns and live industrial facilities
- Travelling to customer sites throughout the UK and Europe when required
Essential requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Rigger, or Industrial Installer
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Strong understanding of safe working practices
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required
