NEW VACANCY: MECHANICAL FITTER
Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Fitter, Assembly Technician, Hydraulic Fitter or Industrial Mechanic seeking a new job, and are you able to get to Telford (Shropshire)?
We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join an Engineering business based in Telford, the working hours are 7.45am - 16.30pm Monday to Thursday with a lunchtime finish Friday (37.5 hours per week), and the role comes with an annual salary just over £32,000 per annum (hourly rate of £16.50 per hour) DOE.
As a Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for carrying out fitting and fabrication work on various heavy machinery encompassing Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
Whilst the role is predominantly on the tools working as a Mechanical Fitter, you MUST be able to fabricate, and occasional MIG welding work will also be required.
What You Will Do
- Carry out fitting and fabrication duties using engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM) and clear instructions.
- Maintain, fault diagnose, dismantle, repair, assemble and test machinery to a high degree of accuracy and quality.
- Complete fabrication and welding operations, including pipe bending where required.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, slings and other lifting equipment, alongside all relevant tools and test/measuring devices.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and compliant with Health and Safety regulations at all times.
- Support the wider Manufacturing team when workload demands, and complete job sheets and time sheets.

What You Will Bring
- Strong mechanical fitting and fabrication experience, with confidence working to engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Practical experience with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including fault diagnosis and repair work.
- Competence with fabrication and welding processes, plus a careful, detail-focused approach to quality.
- A safety-first mindset and willingness to follow procedures for safe lifting and working practices.
- The ability to work accurately, keep documentation up to date and inspect work to required standards.
