Mechanical Fitter / Service Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Service Engineer to join our established engineering and manufacturing team.
Based at our workshop in Bury, you will work on a range of machine tool refurbishment projects, including the stripping, inspection, repair and reassembly of machinery and mechanical sub-assemblies.
The role will also involve site work, carrying out breakdown inspections, servicing and repairs at customer premises. Site work will predominantly be within the UK.

Key Requirements
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge
- Excellent practical skills and tool dexterity
- Experience stripping and rebuilding rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes and similar machinery
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic IT skills would be an advantage

Hours, Pay and Benefits
- 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Hourly rate £17-20, depending on experience, skillset and capability
- 22 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
