What to expect
As a member of our team, you will support the mechanical maintenance and development of test rigs and laboratory equipment. Your day-to-day work will involve fault finding, problem-solving, and carrying out planned maintenance, as well as assisting with the commissioning of new lab systems. You will work closely with colleagues across the team to ensure high standards of safety, organisation, and rig condition, while developing your skills in mechanical fitting, machining, and technical processes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Mechanical maintenance of test rigs and supporting equipment. Fault finding & problem solving in a variety of fields. Assist with commissioning and development of new lab equipment. Maintain rig appearance, monitor and report condition. Active role in Health & Safety initiatives. High level of organisation & attention to detail. Carrying out planned maintenance checks.

Keys to Success
Entry-level position with appropriate licenses/training certifications Has basic skills in an analytical or technical process

Required Experience
Requirements and Preferred Skills
Fully time served fitter, ideally having worked in a similar role and with machining experience. Educated to City & Guild, SVQ3 or Modern Apprenticeship or equivelant.
Required Skills
Mechanical fitting Fault finding & problem solving Manual machining (Manufacture of custom parts working from engineering drawings) Variety of hand & precision measurement tools
