Mechanical Inspector
Receipting Inspector – Job Description
Overview
The Receiving Inspector will perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected against:
- Engineering drawings
- Customer purchase order(s)
- Industry standards
- Applicable specifications The inspector will also be responsible for recording inspection accept/reject decisions.

Responsibilities
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Report inspection findings by marking acceptance/rejection statuses
- Validate parts against engineering specifications and customer requirements

Key Requirements
- Practical experience in Goods-in inspection for complex machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- Proficiency in ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or an equivalent standard
- Experience using standard mechanical inspection tools, including micrometers and calipers
- Bonus: Prior experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) would be advantageous
