We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

Join BD Rowa and help deliver pharmacy automation systems that support hospitals and retail pharmacies across the UK and Europe. As an Installation Engineer, you will install advanced robotic dispensing systems that improve efficiency and help healthcare professionals provide better patient care.

Working as part of a close-knit team of experienced installation engineers, you will assemble and install highly engineered robotic systems and conveyor solutions at customer sites. Every installation is different, requiring mechanical expertise, precision and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

This is a fully field-based position with travel from Monday to Friday. Projects take place throughout the UK, Ireland and regularly across Europe.

We are ideally looking for someone based in Northern England or the Midlands, within reasonable travelling distance of major transport links, although candidates from other locations who are able to meet the travel requirements are also encouraged to apply.

Comprehensive product training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop specialist engineering skills within an international healthcare technology business.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install BD Rowa robotic pharmacy automation systems and conveyor solutions to demanding quality standards.
  • Support equipment deliveries and safely unload installation materials in line with project plans and site safety requirements.
  • Work closely with fellow installation engineers to deliver projects safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and on-site contractors throughout each installation.
  • Complete accurate installation records, progress updates and photographic documentation using company systems.
  • Follow risk assessments, method statements and all health and safety procedures while working in hospital and pharmacy environments.
  • Coordinate successful project handovers with commissioning engineers and collaborate with wider project teams.
  • Travel extensively throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe to complete customer installations, attend training and support business needs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
