Mechanical Installation Supervisor – Solar PV Plant Project

Protecnium, an international consulting firm specialising in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en), is seeking a Mechanical Installation Supervisor to join their Solar PV Plant Project in Scotland, UK (on-site position, ~50 minutes north of Edinburgh).

Project: Solar PV Construction Estimated Duration: 3 months (Note: Upon project completion, Protecnium aims to offer continuity by placing employees in other projects.)


About the Role

The Mechanical Installation Supervisor will oversee the installation of mechanical components for a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant, including:

  • Mounting structures
  • Trackers or fixed-tilt systems
  • PV module installations
  • Coordination of installation crews

Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to project quality standards, HSE requirements, schedule targets, and daily productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise mechanical installation of mounting structures, trackers, fixed-tilt systems, and PV modules.
  • Coordinate installation teams and subcontractors, ensuring daily work plans are met.
  • Monitor work quality against project drawings, technical specifications, and standards.
  • Safeguard compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols throughout activities.
  • Report progress, site issues, material requirements, and productivity to the construction/site management team.

Working Arrangements

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with a 1-hour break).

Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Proven experience as a Mechanical Installation Supervisor (preferably in Photovoltaic/Solar Plant projects).
    • Valid CSCS card.
    • UK work permit (mandatory).
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience in photovoltaic, renewable energy, or large-scale construction projects.
