Description
The Role
Our Contracts Delivery Team is looking for a Mechanical Labourer to join our team at our East Kilbride branch. This is a hands-on role supporting mechanical installation works on wastewater pumping systems for the housing developer market.
The position involves a mix of workshop-based duties at our East Kilbride facility and on-site work, providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the mechanical and engineering sector.

Role Overview
As a Mechanical Labourer, you will support the mechanical fitters and engineers in delivering new and upgrade wastewater pumping system installations, working in line with Scottish Water specifications.

You will assist with general mechanical tasks, preparation of equipment, and maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting mechanical fitters with installation of pumps, pipework and mechanical equipment
- Supporting mechanical assembly and fit-out works in the workshop
- Loading, unloading and moving equipment and materials
- Basic use of hand and power tools (training provided)
- Assisting with on-site installation activities
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas
- Supporting commissioning activities under supervision
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures
- Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor and Project Engineer
Requirements
Essential:
- Willingness to carry out manual and practical work
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable (but Not Essential):
- Previous labouring, mechanical or site experience
- CSCS or similar site safety certification
- Interest in mechanical engineering or fitting
- Clean driving licence or willingness to work towards one
