Mechanical Support Apprentice
Role Overview
Location: Aldermaston
Salary: £28,000 + allowances + overtime
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:45 – 16:30 (16:15 on Fridays) + 9-day fortnight

Job Purpose
A hands-on support role for Mechanical Engineers, ideal for candidates with basic mechanical knowledge and hand tool experience.
✨ Full training provided, with a clear development plan into a more advanced position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Mechanical Engineers and steam pipefitters with planned & reactive tasks
- Report all repairs noticed to the Works Supervisor
- Maintain knowledge of petrol-fuelled generators and water pumps for underground maintenance
- Work independently while following reporting procedures set by managers
- Clear undergrowth from external steam/condensate pipework and paint pipe supports
- Escort sub-contractors/personnel requiring escorting for site activities
- Maintain professional standards in housekeeping & working practices
- Comply with manager directives

Requirements
✔ Proven experience in a technical support role ✔ Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance ✔ Strong health & safety awareness ✔ Eligibility to obtain high-level security clearance ✔ Full UK driving licence
