Salary: £45,000 per annum + Overtime Available

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm


Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Monday to Friday | £45,000 + Excellent Benefits

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our established maintenance team based in Potters Bar. The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical systems and plant equipment. You'll play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance and mechanical breakdowns.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Service, maintain and repair pumps, motors, pipework, valves, bearings, conveyors and other mechanical plant.
  • Complete maintenance records and reports accurately.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and reliability.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Fitter.
  • A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience carrying out maintenance within commercial, industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
