Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Melton Mowbray

📍 Location: Melton Mowbray

💷 Salary: £50,900 - £56,900 (incl. shift allowances, DOE)

🎁 Benefits:

  • + £2,500 welcome bonus
  • Performance Bonus & distinctive benefits package
  • 12-hour shift pattern (7 days on, 7 days off, 2 days off, 4 free days)

Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be:

  • Reducing repair times through technical expertise and problem-solving.
  • Supporting technical facilitation, training, and leadership to minimise:
    • Downtime
    • Waste
    • Quality issues
    • Safety risks

Core duties include:

  • Fault-finding & problem-solving across diverse equipment.
  • Delivering maintenance activities to ensure seamless transitions between production and maintenance.
  • Conducting risk assessments and drafting method statements for safe work execution.
  • Identifying parts for purchases and procuring necessary goods/services.
  • Resolving breakdowns within shift timelines.
  • Performing Level 1 problem-solving, including component failure analysis.
  • Logging breakdowns/known jobs in Atlas.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum Higher National Certificate or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
    • Practical industrial experience to complement qualifications.
  • Specialised expertise in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environments.
  • Proven ability to:
    • Solve technical issues using root cause analysis.
    • Use Microsoft Excel, PI Process Book, and SAP Planned Maintenance.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and change control processes.
  • Experience leading:
    • Root-cause fault finding investigations.
    • Sustainable technical improvements.
