About Us
Marches Biogas is based in Ludlow, Shropshire. We are the UK’s leading provider of anaerobic digestion (AD) solutions for agriculture and waste management industries, with over 30 years of AD experience. We offer AD consultancy services, including:
- DSEAR assessments
- Site surveys
- Process and equipment selection reviews
- Design and implementation of plant upgrades
- Delivery of major AD plant upgrades, including direct work with water utilities
- Mechanical, biological and operational support across multiple AD plants in the UK.
Main Purpose of the Job
To assist with the day-to-day planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and functionality requirements of operating anaerobic digesters.

Key Responsibilities
Duties and Tasks
- Carry out maintenance on anaerobic digestion plants across the United Kingdom
- Monitor and diagnose problems using plant operation systems
- Assist with setup of associated systems and conduct repairs or adjustments as needed
- Maintain feeding, heating, and pumping systems to ensure efficient operation
- Inspect and test alarm and functionality systems
- Follow safe systems of work and procedures at all times
- Ensure client sites remain clean and tidy
- Complete necessary paperwork as directed by the Maintenance Manager
- Take samples as instructed by the Biological Support Team

Required Skills and Experience
Must-have:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Other industry-specific systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, including tool use and procedures
- Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Full professional license or equivalent certification (qualification details to follow in guidance)
