📌 Maintenance Engineer - Days
📍 Cwm (South Wales)
💰 £36,500 - £38,500
What You'll Do:
- Join a growing Material processing facility where no two days look the same.
- You will be part of a hands-on engineering team, playing a key role in keeping plant operations running efficiently and safely.
- Carry out daily inspections across plant and workshop areas, ensuring high safety and housekeeping standards.
- Work from maintenance schedules and job sheets, prioritising urgent tasks effectively.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance, forming the majority of your workload.
- Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime across the site.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, screening equipment, and plant machinery.
- Work within permit systems, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Support a fast-paced environment, handling multiple maintenance challenges each day.
What You'll Bring:
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years' experience within manufacturing, production, or heavy plant environments.
- Strong mechanical background with experience on conveyors, rollers, belts, motors, and gearboxes.
- Confident fault finding and ability to strip down and rebuild mechanical components.
- Solid hydraulics knowledge, including pressure testing and component replacement.
- Understanding of pneumatics and ability to fault find and repair systems.
- Experience dealing with common plant issues such as blockages, belt failures, and component breakdowns.
- Basic electrical knowledge including isolation and safe working practices is desirable.
- Exposure to PLC systems would be advantageous but not essential.
- A proactive, team-focused attitude with strong problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable working in a demanding, hands-on waste processing environment.
