Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Permanent Role

Location: Burnley, England Salary: £47,503.04 per annum (£19.40/hour + £4.64 night shift premium) Hours: Nights (Mon-Thurs, 22:00–07:30) Contract Type: Permanent (38 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities

• Independently work either individually or as part of a team. • Operate computer equipment for data purposes, including reading engineering drawings and quality plans. • Utilise a range of measuring equipment with precision. • Apply a methodical, compliant approach to systems, adhering to established standards and work procedures. • Make decision-based actions using experience, demonstrate confidence, and implement changes where safe within boundaries. • Maintain high personal organisation under pressure from time-sensitive, internal, or external customer demands. • Meet tight deadlines efficiently. • Develop, mentor, and encourage apprentices, fostering skill growth. • Support internal/external teams, ensuring alignment with business needs for maximum effectiveness.

Essential Requirements

Ideal candidates should possess the following knowledge and skills:

Technical Experience

  • Previous experience working in similar mechanical maintenance environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of factory processes and their associated technologies.
  • Experience in improving and maintaining quality standards.
  • Proficiency in PLCs, AC drives, and servo drives.
  • Familiarity with:
    • CNC machines, conventional machines and related plant equipment.
    • Planned and preventive maintenance strategies.
    • (Bonus) Robotics—helpful but not mandatory.
