Since 2011, px Group have managed the operations and maintenance teams at Stallingborough CHP plant. px Group has undertaken a series of outages designed to maintain and improve plant availability and reliability, along with several plant studies, and projects on behalf of the plant owners to identify plant issues and to improve asset integrity.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
The primary function of the role is to manage and support the mechanical maintenance and project activities within the CHP. The responsibilities include advising on these areas to ensure that practices, procedures, and systems comply with statutory requirements, industry standards, and px Group guidelines.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities
- Be the responsible person (mechanical) for the site
- Site mechanical improvements
- Direct responsibility of sites Written Schemes of Examination and ensuring timely completion of any competent person inspections
- Working with the sites Competent person to ensure any documentation required for PSSR Statutory outages are completed in a timely manner
- Responsibility for the site outage planning and execution
- Maintain the CMMS system including PMs and back log of all works
- Contribute and lead where applicable all site mechanical projects
- Be the sites appropriate officer for:
- Legionella
- Environmental management system
- Confined Space
- Pressure systems
- Radiography
- Asbestos
- Lead and complete where required all mechanical MOCs
- Identify and immediately report plant defects, observations and anomalies that have, or have the potential to affect the safety of the process or which are noted to be abnormal to usual operations

Minimum Requirements
- A HNC in a mechanical engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- Have demonstratable successful mechanical engineering contributions in a 24/7 industrial environment including:
- Maintenance or fault finding
- Contract management
- Outage planning/management
- Contractor management
- Engineering & Operational interface
- Developing, implementing and evaluating improvements and mods.
- Management of Change applications.
- Managing budgets and projects.
- Have knowledge of SHEQ Systems, CMMS, Full Project Lifecycle, PSSR, Control valve and actuator types.
- Be able to read and interpret design specifications and technical drawings.
