Job Purpose and Impact
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance & Reliability Technician to join our engineering team in Hull. This opportunity offers:

The Role
You’ll work in a highly automated manufacturing environment, overseeing the maintenance and reliability of plant assets through a mix of planned and reactive activities. Your work will cover:
- Preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance
- Ensuring safe, efficient, and long-term equipment operation
Key Working Conditions
- Weekly rotating shifts (Monday–Friday, 8 hours per shift):
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Call-outs average 1 every 6 weeks

Key Accountabilities
Maintenance & Reliability
- Apply maintenance and reliability practices with minimal guidance to ensure equipment remains safe, well-maintained, and operational.
- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance across the site with little direction.
Technical Tools & Systems
- Operate and maintain key industrial tools and technologies:
- Power tools
- Electrical tools
- Precision maintenance equipment
- Preventative maintenance software
- Experience working with 1 or 2 maintenance trades, including:
- Electrical fault-finding and plant electronics
- Welding, pipefitting, fabricating, or mechanical systems
- Rotating equipment, pumps, lubrication, gearboxes, bearings
- Hydraulic/pneumatic systems
Modified Documentation & Compliance
- Contribute to technical modifications with basic guidance (e.g., schematics, blueprints, operation manuals).
Process & Recording
- Document all maintenance activities using computerised systems and collaborate with colleagues to drive facility improvements.
- Safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts according to production standards for efficient equipment delivery.
Flexibility & Historical Responsibilities
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary to support operations.

Qualifications & Key Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification, e.g.:
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering
- Apprenticeship or equivalent
- Industrial maintenance experience in:
- Manufacturing, food, FMCG, chemicals
- Strong proficiency in mechanical fault-finding and applying corrections.
- Experience working on pumps, bearings, gearboxes, or hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Proactive problem solver with strong teamwork skills and effective communication.
Desirable
- Basic electric fault-finding experience
- PLC fault-diagnosis capability
- Welding or fabrication skills
