About the Role
MARS Recruitment is exclusively recruiting a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a leading company in the design and manufacturing of instrumentation, systems, and devices. After a highly successful period for the business, they are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with several years of experience to manage project delivery—from conception through design into manufacturing. This role particularly suits professionals who thrive in project management, enjoy collaborating with customers, and delivering high-quality products.
The Role
The Mechanical Project Engineer will:
- Liaise with customers, understanding and interpreting their technical requirements.
- Create functional specifications and collaborate with the design team, assisting with calculations and analysis.
- Define test specifications while preparing documentation and manufacturing support for each product.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from start to finish, ensuring constant customer communication—right up to installation.

Requirements
Essential
- A Degree, ideally in Mechanical Engineering.
- Project/programme management experience, with the ability to lead and execute.
- Product experience in high-precision mechanics and motion systems.
- Design, analysis, and calculations knowledge—ability to validate engineering designs.
- Drawing standards and build process expertise.
- Budget management skills—preparing and overseeing engineering finances.
- Experience managing multiple projects—planning, prioritising, and delivering efficiently.
- ISO 9001 Quality Standards awareness.
- Ongoing Occupational Health and Safety compliance.

Desirable
- Familiarity with 3D modelling and CAD packages.
- Experience using Microsoft Project or similar software.
