About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a specialist engineering contractor delivering complex data centre projects across international locations.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical facilities, managing the installation of mechanical building services from pre-construction through to commissioning and client handover.

- Manage all aspects of project execution, from planning and procurement through installation, commissioning, and final handover.
- Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, ICT, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor project progress against programme milestones, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Manage project budgets, labour resources, and procurement activities to support commercial objectives.
- Attend client, consultant, and subcontractor meetings, providing regular updates on project progress and key deliverables.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
