We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the technical capability of a Design Authority responsible for ensuring critical infrastructure remains safe, compliant and fit for purpose within a highly regulated environment.

This role would suit engineers with experience in mechanical design, maintenance, installation or engineering assurance. You will support the assessment, substantiation and ongoing performance of infrastructure systems, contributing to safety reviews, engineering assessments and the continued operation of critical facilities.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Broad mechanical engineering experience within industrial, infrastructure, defence, energy, nuclear or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with some of the following systems would be advantageous:
    • Pumps and fluid systems
    • Cranes and lifting equipment
    • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
    • Pressure systems
    • Diesel generators
  • Experience undertaking Periodic Safety Reviews (PSRs) or similar engineering assurance activities, with a strong understanding of design intent, asset integrity, ageing mechanisms and engineering substantiation.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of British and international engineering standards to assess compliance, support engineering decision-making and ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of critical infrastructure.
