Prime Appointments are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Service Technician for a leading engineering services provider supporting the Energy, Power Generation, Refinery, Utilities, and Heavy Engineering sectors.
This role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Rotating Equipment Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer with experience servicing industrial machinery.
The Role
- Service, maintain, repair, and overhaul rotating equipment, including pumps and turbines
- Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on industrial plant
- Perform alignment, inspection, and precision measurements
- Support planned shutdowns, outages, and reactive maintenance
- Complete service reports and technical documentation
- Travel to customer sites across the UK (90% within one hour of Wickford)

Skills & Experience
- ONC, HNC, NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with pumps, turbines, compressors, or other rotating equipment
- Background in power generation, energy, refinery, utilities, or heavy engineering
- Strong fault finding and mechanical diagnostics skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to join a 1-in-5 callout rota
