We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Shift Lead to join our established engineering team at a prestigious commercial site in Canary Wharf. The Role
As the Mechanical Shift Lead, you will oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a high-profile commercial building while leading a team of engineers to ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of shift engineers.
- Carry out and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Ensure all mechanical plant and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
- Respond to critical plant failures and coordinate repairs.
- Manage contractors and specialist service providers on site.
- Ensure all statutory compliance and health & safety procedures are followed.
- Complete maintenance documentation and reporting accurately.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to the engineering team.
- Liaise with clients and management to maintain excellent service delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Previous experience within commercial building maintenance.
- Experience leading or supervising an engineering team.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, boilers, and associated mechanical systems.
- Good understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a shift environment.
