Job Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Site Engineer to join our Metlen Renewable Energy team in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical subcontractors during installation of mounting structures, trackers, steel posts, torque tubes, and structural components
- Verify assembly quality, torqueing, levelling, alignment, tolerances, and corrosion protection compliance
- Coordinate subcontractors and manpower allocation to ensure efficient project execution
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, installation manuals, specifications, and technical documentation
- Support mechanical inspections, QA/QC activities, and compliance with ITPs and company quality standards
- Monitor installation progress, installed quantities, productivity rates, and report delays or material shortages
- Coordinate mechanical interfaces with civil and electrical teams, including trenching and DC cabling activities
- Verify correct use of tools, torque equipment, and installation procedures on site
- Maintain records of mechanical issues, corrective actions, and project progress reporting
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, PPE requirements, toolbox talks, snagging activities, final alignment checks, and safe systems of work

Profile
What You Bring to the Role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil, or a related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience supervising and coordinating mechanical and structural installation works within construction and renewable energy projects
- Experience in subcontractor management and site execution support
- Strong knowledge of mounting structures, tracker systems, steel posts, torque tubes, and associated structural components
- Experience with torqueing, alignment, tolerances, and mechanical installation quality standards
- Familiarity with QA/QC inspections, site documentation, and project compliance procedures
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, installation manuals, specifications, and construction documentation
- Experience coordinating mechanical activities with civil and electrical teams in fast-paced site environments
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills under site pressure
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach and strong commitment to quality, safety, RAMS, and project delivery
