Mechanical Site Manager – Water & Wastewater Treatment Birmingham (Site-Based with Hybrid Working)

The Role
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to oversee the installation and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment systems on site. You'll be the key point of contact between the site team, supply chain, and the wider project management function - ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the high standards our client's customers expect.

This role offers a genuine hybrid working arrangement: 3 days on site, 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities
Managing day-to-day mechanical installation activities on water/wastewater treatment projects
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour to maintain programme and quality
Ensuring full compliance with CDM regulations, site-specific health & safety requirements, and environmental obligations
Liaising with the client, design team, and commissioning engineers throughout the construction phase
Producing and maintaining RAMS, site diaries, progress reports, and O&M documentation
Supporting the commissioning phase, working alongside process and commissioning engineers to bring plant into operation
Identifying and managing technical queries, RFIs, and variation events

What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on water sector or process/industrial projects
Strong understanding of mechanical pipework, pumping systems, and associated plant — xlqdzyr ideally within a treatment works environment
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold Card), and first aid certification
Comfortable working with NEC or similar forms of contract
Strong communication skills - able to manage multiple stakeholders and represent the business professionally on site
Self-motivated and organised, capable of managing remote workdays effectively
