- Hours: 37.5 per week, Mon – Fri
- Overtime: Available at premium rates

About the Role
This is an opportunity for a professional and proactive Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance team at the Hythe fuel terminal. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring the terminal operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. As a Mechanical Technician, you will focus on the maintenance and repair of critical mechanical systems vital to fuel handling and storage.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on:
- Pumps
- Pipework systems
- Valves
- Vessels
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes to prevent recurrence
- Assist with commissioning new mechanical equipment and modifications, as required
- Obtain quotations for spares, repairs, and improvements from suppliers
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors on planned works
- Identify opportunities for reliability or cost-efficiency improvements
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in workshops and storage areas
Requirements
- Completion of a time-served mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance and safe systems of work (RAMS)
- Ideally, experience in:
- Oil, gas, petrochemical, or broader energy sectors
- Royal Navy or Armed Forces (preferred but not essential)
- A disciplined, safety-focused, and solutions-oriented approach
- Basic computer skills (e.g., maintenance systems, reporting tools)
