Partner with the best

As a Mechanical Technician, you will build and assemble electrical and hydraulic control units, supporting the manufacture and testing of directional control valves and associated systems. You will work from engineering drawings and routings to deliver assemblies that meet quality, cost, and lead‑time requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Mechanically assembling hydraulic systems and control units.
  • Building and testing small directional control valves.
  • Carrying out automated flushing and pressure testing activities.
  • Working to engineering diagrams, drawings, and routings.
  • Flushing units to ensure hydraulic cleanliness.
  • Fitting and torquing bolts in sequence to required build standards.
  • Building assemblies to meet prescribed quality standards, cost targets, and agreed lead times.
  • Feeding back quality issues using established company procedures.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards within the workshop environment.
  • Performing additional tasks as specified by the Team Leader.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Key Job-Specific Skills

    • Demonstrate the ability to carry out mechanical assembly activities.
    • Be able to read and interpret mechanical schematics.
    • Have good knowledge and effective use of hand tools.
    • Perform simple pipe‑fitting tasks.
    • Carry out testing and calibration on modules to predetermined test processes, under guidance from test engineers.
    • Possess sound mechanical knowledge of build and assembly processes.
    • Work effectively with others toward common goals.
    • Communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately at working level.
    • Promote company values through leading behaviours.
  • Qualifications, Experience & Characteristics

    • Educated to NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Assembly.
    • BTEC Level 3 or HNC in Engineering (preferred).
    • Results-oriented with a proven track record.
    • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

This is a full‑time, hands‑on role based in a manufacturing or workshop environment. Work involves mechanical assembly, testing, and close collaboration with engineering and test teams.
