Mechanics Instructor/Teacher
Location
Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk, IP14 5QX
Hours & Contract Details
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.15 AM – 3.45 PM
- Contract: Permanent, Term-Time Only
- Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
- Start Date: October 2026

About the Role
A Mechanics Instructor/Teacher will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality teaching, optimising resource use, and driving continuous improvement in learning outcomes. You’ll collaborate closely with the Headteacher while teaching across subjects as required to uphold the school’s curriculum standards.
Key responsibilities include planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons that cater to all pupils’ needs, while embedding opportunities for literacy, numeracy, and ICT development.
This postholder will also contribute to curriculum development and practical projects agreed with the Head of Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of teaching and mechanics provision, supporting its ongoing enhancement.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate an engaging mechanics curriculum aligned with learning objectives.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that nurtures progress and achievement.
- Provide motivating, well-structured lessons with high expectations for all learners.
- Differentiate learning to accommodate a wide range of abilities and needs.
- Assess effectively, track progress, and address learning gaps through informed teaching adjustments.
- Embed literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills into teaching and professional practice.
- Promote pupil welfare, safeguarding, and wellbeing.
