About Our Client
Our client is an established designer, manufacturer and supplier of advanced technology solutions, spanning industrial embedded computing, custom lithium battery packs, secure communications, antennas and imaging systems. Their products are deployed in some of the most demanding environments on earth (and beyond), supporting critical applications from scientific research to secure data transmission.
They offer a genuinely rewarding place to build a career, with a strong focus on employee safety, wellbeing and long term development. The role is based in a scenic, semi rural part of the UK, and the business welcomes applications nationally, with relocation support available for the right candidate.
The Role
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Antennas division, contributing to the design and development of antenna products and systems for defence, aerospace, communications and technology markets.
Reporting into the Chief Engineer, with close support from the Principal Mechanical Engineer, you'll take mechanical designs from concept through to production as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. You'll be involved in design, testing, manufacturing support and continuous improvement work across a range of high performance products.
This is a strong opportunity for an engineer keen to grow their skills within a specialist RF and antenna engineering setting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
