Mechatronics Engineer

Location: Herefordshire (site-based)

Employment: Permanent

Security: Successful SC clearance required before employment.

Overview

An established UK engineering company is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to develop advanced electromechanical positioning and automation systems for high-performance applications. Working with a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support projects from concept through production, contributing to design, prototyping, testing, and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electromechanical systems and bespoke engineering solutions.
  • Support motor sizing, motion control selection, and system integration.
  • Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with software/HMI development for control systems.
  • Build, test, and validate prototypes.
  • Participate in design reviews, engineering change activities, and continuous improvement.
  • Support production, reliability testing, and quality compliance.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

  • Experience in mechatronics, robotics, automation, or electromechanical design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • CAD experience (e.g., SolidWorks or similar).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Practical engineering approach.
  • Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent engineering experience.
  • Eligible for UK SC clearance.
