Mechatronics Engineer
Location: Herefordshire (site-based)
Employment: Permanent
Security: Successful SC clearance required before employment.
Overview
An established UK engineering company is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to develop advanced electromechanical positioning and automation systems for high-performance applications. Working with a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support projects from concept through production, contributing to design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electromechanical systems and bespoke engineering solutions.
- Support motor sizing, motion control selection, and system integration.
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Assist with software/HMI development for control systems.
- Build, test, and validate prototypes.
- Participate in design reviews, engineering change activities, and continuous improvement.
- Support production, reliability testing, and quality compliance.
- Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements
- Experience in mechatronics, robotics, automation, or electromechanical design.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- CAD experience (e.g., SolidWorks or similar).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Practical engineering approach.
- Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent engineering experience.
- Eligible for UK SC clearance.

Desirable
- Defence or harsh-environment experience.
- Motion control or automation exposure.
