Suitable for: Recent Master’s graduates in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electronics, Automation or related disciplines

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Graduate Mechatronics / Product Development Engineer to support the development of advanced engineering and additive manufacturing machines. This is a multidisciplinary engineering role for someone who enjoys building real machines, solving practical engineering problems and working across electronics, embedded systems, software, sensors, motors and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electronics and programming, combined with an understanding of mechanical engineering or mechatronics. You will work closely with our engineering team on the development, integration, testing and improvement of new machine systems from early prototypes through to production-ready products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development and testing of new engineering machines and prototypes.
  • Develop and integrate electronic systems, sensors, motors, actuators and control hardware.
  • Work with microcontrollers and embedded platforms such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Teensy or similar.
  • Support wiring, PCB integration, electrical troubleshooting and system testing.
  • Develop and modify software for machine control, automation and hardware communication.
  • Integrate mechanical, electronic and software systems into complete working machines.
  • Support motion-control systems, stepper motors, servo motors and other automation components.
  • Carry out machine testing, debugging, fault finding and performance improvement.
  • Support prototype assembly and practical workshop-based engineering activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, wiring diagrams, test records and development reports.
  • Work with suppliers, manufacturing partners and other engineering disciplines during machine development.
  • Contribute ideas for improving machine performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
