Mechatronics Systems Engineer
Mechatronics & Systems Engineering (Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Simulation Systems Engineer)

Do you have a passion for complex engineering systems, real-time simulation, and problem-solving? If so, we’re looking for a talented Simulation Systems Engineer to join our innovative team and maintain one of the UK’s most advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering, delivering sophisticated simulation capabilities that enable safe, controlled testing of complex systems.

What you’ll be doing
- Supporting and maintaining advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation facilities
- Performing planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault diagnosis
- Working on multi-axis hydraulic motion systems and precision positioning equipment
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
- Supporting upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Ensuring simulation systems remain reliable, accurate, and available for critical engineering programmes
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams

Preferred experience includes (but is not limited to):
- Mechatronics, Mechanical, Systems or Electronic Engineering
- Hydraulic systems knowledge
- Control systems and automation expertise
- Experience with electro-mechanical equipment
- Mechanical assembly and workshop practices
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- CAD experience (preferably CREO, though other packages will be considered)
- Fault finding and maintenance of complex engineering equipment
- Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance
- Familiarity with engineering management or maintenance information systems
