About The Role
Reporting to the Director, Data Analytics & Media Intelligence, the Media Analyst shapes critical media coverage analysis reports for clients by:
- Understanding client needs
- Designing reporting approaches
- Coordinating execution
- Reviewing work
- Delivering polished final products
This is a multi-faceted role combining analytical skill, editorial judgment, project ownership, and client-facing communication.
The ideal candidate must be:
- Highly communicative
- Proactive and able to own their work
- Capable of demonstrating sound judgment under pressure
- Curious and composed
Technical skills are developable, but soft skills are critical.
What You’ll Do
Media Monitoring and Analysis
- Gain expertise in Agility’s platforms and related tools to monitor and evaluate media coverage across print, online, broadcast, blogs, and social media.
- Analyze coverage through quantitative and qualitative methods, including:
- Tagging
- Sentiment analysis
- Data cleaning
- Trend identification
- Narrative synthesis
- Validation of automated outputs
- Create executive-ready reports featuring:
- Clear writing
- Intuitive data visualizations
- Practical insights
- Careful accuracy, balance, and evidence
Client Understanding and Communication
- Deeply understand assigned client accounts, including:
- Their priorities
- Reporting goals
- Recurring sensitivities
- Communication preferences
- Ask thoughtful questions to clarify client needs and turn them into repeatable reporting approaches.
- Engage with clients via:
- Phone
- Video calls
- Respond professionally to client questions, feedback, concerns, or complaints with:
- Maturity
- Calmness
- Good judgment (escalating when needed)
Project and Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of recurring and ad hoc client reports, ensuring:
- Timely delivery
- Quality standards
- Oversee the full report lifecycle:
- Data gathering
- Preparation
- Analysis
- Review and final delivery
- Balance multiple deadlines and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Identify risks early, escalate them appropriately, and use second opinions when needed.
- Document report processes clearly to ensure:
- Repetition
- Reviewability
- Backups
- Continuous improvement
