Job Purpose
The Media and Association Partnerships Manager will be responsible for international media and trade association partnerships for Gastech, an international energy event which moves location each year.
In this role you will lead in driving event growth and brand awareness through media and association partnerships. You will manage existing partner agreements by developing and fostering relationships with key personnel. You will identify new partnerships globally for our network of events.
Developing effective relationships with key industry publications and association groups is critical; without the support of this role and the partnerships created, our events would not be the successes they currently are.
Key Accountabilities
- Advise, plan and negotiate marketing opportunities with media partners and associations through barter agreements or reduced costs to enhance awareness of the event.
- Work to engage international and national media outlets for partnerships in addition to trade media.
- Research, target and segment international and trade media and association associations to create partnerships that deliver value to the right target audience.
- Engage with the partners to create and develop new partnership marketing initiatives and offer a clearer value proposition for Gastech.
- Coordinate and work closely with design and event marketing team to create branding and advertising materials that are on brand and deliver them on time to partners. Work with marketing executive to ensure are execution, partners to receive relevant exposure outlined on contracts before, during and after the events in return for their services.
- Identify and develop opportunities and keep track of these partners and possible events that may align with their audience.
- Work closely with content, sales and event marketing teams to create and copywrite targeted partnership materials that carry the right messaging and tone of voice
- Plan and manage the delivery of multi-channel partnership marketing campaigns across social, print, web, digital and email
- Track and analyse partnership marketing activities to ensure partnership marketing is delivering effective results
- Work with the external PR companies to ensure we maximise all contacts & opportunities and run an extensive editorial calendar throughout the year
- Ensure all contra deals are recorded on salesforce and mapped in event budgets in line with company procedure.
- Manage partner relations, including negotiating contracts, resolving conflicts, and initiating termination procedures when necessary
- Report monthly on outcomes for each media partner, create a report which is updated weekly. Produce an annual report for each of the events, showing the value of the media partnerships function. Develop a methodology to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of each of the media partners to produce a yearly partnership strategy
- Manage sponsorship fulfilment by ensuring all contracted marketing and branding deliverables are delivered accurately and on time, working closely with sales, marketing, and design teams to provide sponsors with maximum value and visibility.
- Develop and deliver an exhibitor success programme with our Head of Marketing - Exhibitions, ensuring all exhibitors have access to marketing toolkits, guidance, and promotional opportunities to amplify their participation, and track the effectiveness of these activities.

Job Context
dmg events runs leading international energy events. Gastech is the flagship energy event organised out of the UK office, it changes location each year, moving from Asia, EMEA, Europe and USA and partnerships must reflect this change. Each partner relationship should be maintained even if we are not in their region for that event cycle/year.

Minimum Experience
- 2-3 years in a Partnership marketing with events or media experience
Job-Specific Skills
- Have excellent telephone manner with partners and clients and not afraid to pick up the phone to catch up with partners or cold call prospective partners.
- Be able to build mutually beneficial relationship building, focus on the partner needs AND seek win/win agreements.
- Contract negotiation
- A fast learner who wants to understand how to plan and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Proactively develop new opportunities when approaching traditional partners – e.g. digital marketing
- Be a serial networker and social media savvy to reach and work with partners in addition to traditional communication channels.
- Experience using any of the following will be an advantage but not necessary: Salesforce or similar database systems; tracking or analytical tools such as google analytics; Monday.com
- Work closely with both sales and marketing stakeholders to ensure the team hit targets.
- An understanding of the events industry is desirable but not compulsory.
