Leading Financial Services Trade Association

Hybrid working – Central London / Home Working Basic salary £60,000 - £75,000 plus excellent benefits package Permanent, Full-Time

Our client, a highly respected not-for-profit trade association within the financial services sector, is seeking a Media & Campaigns Manager to join their External Affairs function. The role will involve leading media relations and communications campaigns to raise the profile of the organisation and its members.

We are looking for candidates with experience in media relations, communications, campaigns, or public affairs, ideally gained within a financial services organisation, regulator, professional body, trade association, or membership organisation.


Key Responsibilities

The Media & Campaigns Manager will report to the Head of External Affairs and oversee all media engagement, communications campaigns, and sector-wide visibility initiatives, supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Principal Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day media relations, including responding to media enquiries and managing relationships with journalists
  • Develop and deliver integrated communications campaigns aligned with organisational goals
  • Draft media materials, including press releases, briefings, articles, and digital content
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, member organisations, and external partners to identify communications opportunities
  • Coordinate media, digital, policy, and events-based campaigns
  • Support social media activity and monitor digital engagement metrics
  • Provide communication advice to senior stakeholders
  • Proactively seek media exposure to enhance organisational and sector visibility
  • Monitor media trends, emerging issues, and sector developments to refine strategy
  • Contribute to wider external affairs and organisational objectives

Person Specification

Candidates should have:

  • Significant experience in media relations, communications, press office, or campaign management
  • Ability to handle media enquiries, pitch stories, and secure media coverage
  • Excellent writing skills to produce clear, concise, and engaging content for multiple audiences
  • Strong understanding of communications planning and campaign delivery
  • Experience with digital content creation and social media strategy
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and performance monitoring
  • Stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Professional judgement for handling sensitive issues carefully
