Head of Integrated Media Buying

Brief

Lead the development and execution of integrated media buying strategies across TV, digital, OOH, print, radio, and emerging media channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage relationships with external media agencies, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders across brand, product, and retail marketing teams.
  • Conduct in-depth audience analysis and market research to guide data-driven, targeted media investments.
  • Negotiate media rates, placements, and sponsorship deals to maximize efficiency, value, and effectiveness.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize media campaign performance, leveraging real-time analytics and post-campaign evaluations to drive improvements.
  • Manage and track substantial media budgets, ensuring expenditures stay within agreed limits while maximizing campaign ROI.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX and industry standards, brand guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay ahead of evolving media trends, emerging technologies, and channel opportunities within the UK automotive market.
  • Prepare comprehensive post-buy analyses, highlighting performance insights, effectiveness, and actionable recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to inform strategic media investment decisions and contribute to quarterly business reviews and executive-level presentations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Media, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience in media buying, preferably within automotive, technology, or agency settings.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Proven expertise managing large-scale, multi-channel media campaigns with measurable results.
    • In-depth knowledge of the UK media landscape, consumer behaviour, and competitor benchmarking.
    • Proficiency with media planning/buying platforms (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, AdIntel, Google Ads, Meta, DV360).
    • Excellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
    • Strong analytical skills to measure, report, and optimize media performance effectively.
    • Experience in budget management, financial compliance, and ROI-driven campaign execution.
    • Ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Preferred: Automotive or FMCG industry experience.
