Company Description
The Cambridge Union is the oldest debating society in the world and the largest student society in Cambridge, with over 70,000 life members worldwide. It serves as a unique forum for the free exchange of ideas and the practice of public debate, hosting public discussions, guest speakers, and major debating competitions. The Society has welcomed historic and contemporary figures including Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, and the Dalai Lama, giving students the chance to engage directly with people who shape global events. Its university and school debating competitions are among the largest and most prestigious in the UK. The Union’s community of former students and officers includes prominent economists, politicians, journalists, and broadcasters, reflecting a long tradition of fostering future leaders.
With over 210 years of history and hospitality experience, we are seeking an ambitious Media Co-ordinator to advance our venue’s outreach through developing communications and marketing on the most effective media to reach our target audiences across the Cambridge Union, The Orator Brasserie & Bar, and Cambridge Union Events.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
