Job Overview

The Software group is responsible for developing and enhancing the software ecosystem for Arm’s next-generation server-class SoCs and reference platforms. This includes firmware, boot software, system software, and platform enablement stacks that are tightly coupled with advanced hardware technologies.

The Arm Reference Systems DevOps & QA team is looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Embedded DevOps / Build & Release Engineer with proven experience leading all aspects of CI/CD infrastructure, enabling repositories for firmware development, and supporting partner or customer release activities.

This role is critical to ensuring reliable, scalable, and automated deployment of firmware stacks across multiple SoC programs. The engineer will work closely alongside firmware, platform, validation, and release groups to maintain build systems, improve developer workflows, manage release pipelines, and support timely delivery of firmware artifacts to internal teams, partners, and customers.

You will work at the intersection of embedded software, DevOps, CI/CD, and release engineering, helping improve software quality, build reliability, and delivery efficiency for next-generation Arm-based platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, optimize, and grow CI/CD pipelines for embedded firmware and software codebases supporting the platform.
  • Enable and configure repositories for different firmware components and platform programs.
  • Assist in the development and management of distribution processes for firmware stacks like TF-A, UEFI, SCP, bootloaders, Linux, and associated platform software.
  • Build, maintain, and improve automated pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI.
  • Automate firmware build, image generation, packaging, signing, versioning, and artifact publishing workflows.
  • Support partner and customer releases by handling release branches, tags, artifacts, documentation, and delivery packages.
  • Collaborate with firmware, infrastructure, verification, and QA teams to debug build failures, integration issues, and release blockers.
  • Enable per-patch, nightly, and release validation routines to boost software quality and catch problems early.
  • Maintain CI infrastructure, runners, build environments, scripts, and automation frameworks.
  • Integrate and maintain static analysis, compliance, and security scanning tools such as Coverity and Black Duck.
  • Drive standardization of build and release processes throughout various firmware repositories and SoC programs.
  • Improve developer productivity through automation, tooling, documentation, and self-service workflows.
  • Track CI health, build failures, test trends, and release readiness through dashboards and reporting.
  • Ensure timely support for release achievements, partner drops, customer deliveries, and internal engineering builds.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
