Join the Kinder Media Professional Associate Team
Mental Health & Wellbeing Professionals
Help shape the future of contributor welfare in television and media.
Kinder Media is building a Professional Associate Team of experienced mental health and wellbeing professionals to support broadcasters, production companies and content creators in delivering high-quality contributor welfare and psychologically informed production practices.
As our work continues to grow, we are looking to build a network of experienced professionals who can contribute to a range of commissioned services, including contributor assessments, training, coaching, psychological support, consultancy and the development of duty of care approaches.
This is a freelance associate opportunity. Professional Associates are commissioned on an assignment-by-assignment basis according to client need, expertise and availability.
What you could contribute
Depending on your expertise, commissioned assignments may include:
- Contributor psychological or psychosocial assessments.
- Coaching and reflective practice.
- Psychological or therapeutic support where appropriate.
- Designing and delivering professional training.
- Developing learning resources and specialist courses.
- Developing or reviewing contributor welfare and duty of care frameworks.
- Consultancy to broadcasters and production companies.
- Supporting productions with specialist psychological expertise.

You'll ideally demonstrate:
- Relevant professional registration or accreditation where appropriate.
- Significant experience within your area of professional practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong professional judgement and ethical decision-making.
- The ability to work independently and manage commissioned assignments with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- A collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
- An interest in contributor welfare and psychologically informed production practice.
- A commitment to continuing professional development.
Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:
- Psychological or psychosocial assessment.
- Coaching or reflective practice.
- Therapeutic support.
- Contributor welfare.
- Trauma-informed practice.
- Risk assessment and risk management.
- Learning design or course development.
- Training or facilitation.
- Organisational consultancy.
- Television, film or digital media.
Pay
This is a freelance associate opportunity with assignment-based fees.
Current commissioned work may include:
- Contributor assessments: fees agreed per assignment.
- Training delivery: fees agreed per assignment.
- Course design and development: fees agreed per assignment.
- Consultancy, coaching and psychological support: fees agreed according to the scope of work.
Potential annual earnings vary depending on expertise, availability and the volume of commissioned work undertaken. There is no guaranteed minimum level of work.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview. Depending on the number of applications and the nature of the opportunity, applicants may also be invited to complete a short presentation or practical exercise.
Successful applicants may be invited to join the Professional Associate Team immediately or, where appropriate, be encouraged to undertake further professional development before being considered for specific commissioned opportunities.
About the Professional Associate Team
Joining the Kinder Media Professional Associate Team enables you to be considered for future commissioned work. It does not guarantee that work will be available, nor does it oblige either party to accept individual assignments.
Before undertaking commissioned work, Associates complete a short onboarding process, including an Associate Agreement, confirmation of relevant professional registration, evidence of appropriate insurance where required and the completion of standard onboarding documentation.
