Media Relations Consultant

Media Relations Consultant – Position Description

At CGI, we know that trusted communications shape reputation, influence markets, and strengthen client relationships. As a Media Relations Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering impactful external communications that support our business priorities and reinforce our position as a trusted transformation partner. Working across business units and global teams, you’ll help bring our stories to life, drive meaningful media engagement, and contribute to communications that showcase the value we deliver for clients and communities.

Why CGI?

  • Recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times.
  • Competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, and a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) – making you a CGI Partner, not just an employee.
  • Commitment to inclusivity and a genuinely diverse community of tech talent, including support for armed forces veterans (Gold Armed Forces Corporate Covenant Award).
  • Hybrid working model to support professional flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support CGI’s external communications strategy through:

  • Planning & Execution: Lead media relations activities from inception to delivery, including:
    • Developing high-quality press releases, media statements, and briefing materials.
    • Coordinating media pipelines, timelines, approvals, and deliverables across stakeholders.
    • Supporting crisis communications and reputation protection.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
