Summary

APL Media is seeking a media sales executive to work across its range of products for national print and online newspapers, including The Telegraph, The London Standard, The Guardian and The Independent.

With 25 years in the industry, APL Media is a travel and lifestyle content specialist based in Kentish Town. Its diverse portfolio spans print media, digital platforms, social media, events and broadcast, and includes National Geographic Traveller (UK).

APL Media is looking for someone to join its dynamic team and sell across themes such as health and fitness; food; travel; homes and gardens; finance and legal; and seasonal festive subjects. The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales executive with general sales experience or specialised knowledge of print media sales.

The role will focus on developing new business relationships with senior decision-makers across various sectors.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Selling advertising, branded content and advertorials across print and digital platforms
  • Achieving monthly sales targets
  • Developing compelling sales presentations and proposals, focusing on spreads and features within products for national newspapers
  • Leading the development of commercially funded digital campaigns
  • Effectively monetising diverse media platforms and responding swiftly to emerging opportunities in print media
  • Analysing market competition and proposing creative, effective solutions
  • Researching current trends in print media and adapting strategies accordingly
  • Upholding high levels of professionalism

About you

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Resilient, ambitious and an excellent team player
  • Comprehensive understanding of the print media landscape
  • Exceptional organisational skills, report literacy and numerical skills
  • Self-starter with proficiency in lead sourcing and time management
  • Natural flair for sales
