Description
Are you a commercially driven media sales professional looking for the opportunity to lead, influence and grow revenue across two highly respected industry brands?

We are looking for a Media Sales Lead to take ownership of advertising sales across Forestry Journal and essentialARB, two trusted and market-leading publications serving the forestry, arboriculture, timber and land management sectors.
Reporting directly to the Publisher, this is a senior commercial role responsible for driving print and digital advertising revenues while identifying new opportunities for growth across a diverse media portfolio. You'll work with an established client base while proactively developing new business opportunities, creating innovative commercial solutions and building long-term partnerships with industry-leading organisations.
With a highly engaged audience of more than 10,000 forestry professionals each month, a combined social media following of over 132,000, and a growing suite of digital products including newsletters, podcasts, video content and events, this role offers genuine scope to make a significant commercial impact.
You'll be at the forefront of developing revenue opportunities across print, digital display, sponsored content, newsletters, recruitment advertising, social media campaigns, podcasts, video partnerships, events and bespoke commercial packages.

Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of advertising revenue generation across Forestry Journal and essentialARB.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Build, manage and grow relationships with existing advertisers, agencies and commercial partners.
- Identify, prospect and convert new business opportunities across relevant industry sectors.
- Create tailored multi-platform advertising solutions incorporating print, digital, social media, content marketing, video, podcast and event opportunities.
- Develop annual partnerships and strategic commercial agreements with key clients.
- Prepare compelling proposals, presentations and commercial packages that deliver value for customers.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and negotiation through to campaign delivery and renewal.
- Work closely with editorial, marketing and production teams to ensure successful campaign execution.
- Represent the brands at industry exhibitions, conferences, networking events and client meetings.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging commercial opportunities.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management and revenue reporting.
- Support the continued growth and commercial development of both brands.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven success within media, advertising, publishing or B2B sales environments.
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience selling both print and digital advertising solutions.
- Excellent account management skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Demonstrable success in new business development and revenue growth.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to create consultative, solution-led sales proposals tailored to client objectives.
- Understanding of multi-channel marketing solutions, including digital display, social media, content marketing, newsletters, video and events.
- Confident presenter with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised, self-motivated and able to effectively manage a sales pipeline.
- Comfortable working independently within a hybrid environment while collaborating with wider teams.
- Proficient in CRM systems, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of forestry, arboriculture, agriculture, timber, machinery or specialist B2B publishing sectors would be advantageous, but is not essential.
