Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
- Scribing information for the dermatologist
- Providing post-op wound care to patients
- Drawing blood and suture removal
- Cleaning and stocking exam rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments

- Supporting the dermatologist in conducting procedures, including:
- Surgical photographs
- Biopsies – punch, DIF, and shave
- Excisions
- Electrodessication and curettage
- I&D (incision and drainage)
- Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
- Phototherapy
- Injections
- Koh preps
- Trichograms
- Tzank preps
- Dermabrasion
- Patch testing
- Blue light therapy
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Post-high school education in a medical support field (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse) is strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
- Must maintain current state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations for employment continuity
- Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently and collaboratively with staff, clients, and visitors
